What does “good food” mean at Choices?

You can shop with confidence at Choices knowing every product on our shelves has been carefully selected using a demanding set of standards and has been personally screened by our managers for artificial ingredients, harmful chemicals, and preservatives. There are a number of criteria we use to evaluate products before they make their way onto our shelves, and here are a few of the attributes that we value.

  • organic

  • Non-GMO

  • locally or regionally produced

  • grass fed

  • humanely treated animals

  • sustainably produced

  • minimally processed

  • special diet and allergy options

  • artisan food products

Our Core Values

EB217649-F17D-4B54-978B-FD779D56C485.jpeg

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has."

— Margaret Mead

  1. Service:  If you have a question or need help, we have a knowledgeable, friendly staff who make sure everyone that enters our store receives top notch service, feels welcome, and feels Choices is their very own neighborhood market!

  2. Certified Organic: The organic certification keeps harmful herbicides and pesticides out of our food system while also employing farming practices that improve both soil health and carbon sequestration. This certification also prohibits the use of GMOs.

  3. Non-GMO Project Verified: This certification keeps genetically modified organisms out of our food supply. When you see this certification on a product, that means it has gone through rigorous evaluation and testing to make sure that no GMOs are present. You can learn more about GMOs and this organization by clicking here.

  4. Local:  We are committed to supporting local farmers and businesses that are contributing to the organic and sustainable movement ultimately leading to a healthier community.

  5. Fair Trade:  We want the proceeds from the products we sell to benefit the communities in which the ingredients were grown and produced, both in the form of supporting educational programs and fair wages.

  6. Choices:  Every customer comes to us at a different place in their journey toward a healthier lifestyle. We offer a variety of clean products to meet our customers’ needs across the continuum.  We prefer organic, but if we are not able to find a suitable organic or non-GMO product to fill a category need in our store, then we’ll choose the healthiest option with the cleanest ingredients.
